Michele Koons

A virtuoso guitarist, Michele's repertoire now includes five songs. Trained in her parent's living room and the pampas of Bolivia, Michele's sing-along stage presence makes you want to clap and stomp your feet. She's moving to the north coast of Peru later this month to analyze ceramics and architectue at a Moche site. If you need any ground penetrating radar on your property, you know who to call.

Lauren Santini

A classically trained violinist, Lauren now analyzes NASA remote sensing imagery to locate lost ancient cities in the Guatemalan jungle. When not staring at multiple computer screens, she enjoys playing bluegrass on her fiddle, picking the mandolin, and belting out resonant, soulful tunes.

Emily Hammer

A former ballerina, Emily also has classical training in flute. Years of recitals have given her stone cold composure on stage, and some might say she goes into a trance. This is her first time playing folk, and she's also trying out the harmonica. She's currently in Diyarbakir, Turkey herding sheep and analyzing campsites for her dissertation on nomadic pastoralism in prehistoric Anatolia.

Audrey Kung

A transplant from San Francisco, Audrey is the only non-archaeologist in the group. She's currently a freelance graphic designer with aspirations of beginning a PhD in environmental health and public policy. Audrey founded the Books for Baghdad non-profit at MIT, and her hobbies include homebrewing, horeseback riding, and dragonboating. Audrey plays the ukulele and sings harmony.

Tina Warinner

Hailing from the flattest state in the Union, Tina has no musical talent whatsoever, but enjoys watching others perform. She instead channels her creative energy into this website. Although Tina trained as professional swing dancer in various bars and clubs during college, she retooled in grad school to become a molecular archaeologist. She dreams of moving to Europe to do genetic research on hairless dogs and mummies.
